Academic Planning

We bring academic and career development together, starting with each student’s interests, abilities and goals to develop an individual plan with a long-term perspective.

Planning covers subject and university choices, preparation for further study, skills development and practical experience.

Subjects, Universities and Future Directions

We consider the student’s interests, abilities and goals when examining the curriculum and entry requirements of subjects and university programmes, alongside their existing foundation and the preparation still needed.

When discussing academic directions, we also consider possible career paths, connecting subject choices with skills development and practical experience.

We research core courses, prerequisites, assessment and research or practical components to understand what students will study and the preparation they need. We then compare options against academic interests, possible future work, intended location, available time and budget.

Set priorities for study and application preparation

Preparation first considers essential application conditions and deadlines, then the knowledge and abilities worth developing before beginning the intended course.

We consider academic performance, language ability and relevant experience to identify priorities in coursework, language preparation and practical work. Recommendations explain what comes first, why it matters and which abilities require sustained development, with adjustments as preparation progresses.

Application Guidance and Support

For students who need application support, we clarify the scope before work begins, including university and programme research, document preparation, application writing, scheduling and progress follow-up.

In-Depth Conversations to Identify Individual Strengths

Through in-depth conversations about application motivations and real experience, we identify each student’s strengths. We explore how they recognised a problem, why they made a particular choice and how they adapted when difficulties arose. Seemingly ordinary details can reveal distinctive ways of thinking and individual abilities.

We distinguish personal contributions from team achievements, identifying work completed independently and work undertaken with guidance or collaboration.

Individually Developed Materials That Reflect the Applicant

Each student’s application materials are individually developed around their real experiences, personal qualities and application goals. From selecting material to organising and expressing it, we develop an individual approach that communicates their strengths and characteristics, without relying on templates or an assembly-line production process.

Overseas Mentors Contribute to Discussion and Writing Guidance

Team members from different subject areas and overseas mentors take part in internal meetings, brainstorming and discussions about the choice of material, content priorities and writing approach. After the first draft, overseas mentors continue to contribute guidance and revisions as we refine the content, structure and expression.

Document Preparation and Application Follow-Up

We consider the programme’s curriculum and application requirements to decide which experiences merit detail and which demonstrate preparation, then organise the personal statement and CV. The writing should connect personal experience, motivation for further study and the intended programme.

Any assistance with recommendation-letter material or text is subject to the recommender’s review and confirmation.

The application mailbox is shared with the student so they can review correspondence. Important developments and matters requiring confirmation are discussed, enabling students to understand document preparation, application progress and next steps, and participate in decisions about their own applications.

Application Destinations

Application support covers Hong Kong and Macao in China, Singapore, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other countries and regions.

University Admissions Outcomes

We have helped many students gain admission to internationally recognised universities. Institutions include the University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, the UK’s G5 universities and US Ivy League universities.
