Professional Diploma in Trauma-Informed Care (PDTIC)

The Professional Diploma in Trauma-Informed Care (PDTIC) is a comprehensive, advanced-level program designed to equip professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to implement trauma-informed practices across diverse sectors. Integrating principles of trauma-informed care from multiple areas, this programme supports healthcare, education, social services, community growth and policy advocacy. Participants will gain a deep understanding of trauma’s impact on individuals and communities, as well as strategies for fostering resilience, healing, and systemic transformation. Healthcare workers, education professionals, staff in social work and counselling and people in community development, law enforcement and religious groups would find this programme useful. Its purpose is to develop participants’ ability to lead trauma work, support policy change and establish systems that help people heal and create equity.

"Trauma-informed care offers a profound pathway to healing by recognizing that beneath every struggle lies a story. By acknowledging the impact of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit, we shift our focus from judgment to compassion. This approach does not ask, 'What’s wrong with you?' but rather, 'What happened to you?' In doing so, we empower individuals to reclaim their narratives, find strength in vulnerability, and rediscover hope. When we walk alongside others with empathy and understanding, we create safe spaces where healing is possible, and every person can find purpose and meaning in their lives."
