Capstone Project

After the death of my mother, I found myself overwhelmed by a wave of emotions I couldn't name or contain. The pain seemed to carve itself into every part of my life — affecting my work, my relationships, and even my sense of who I was. I tried to carry on, thinking that time would heal all wounds, but the ache remained, an unspoken presence I carried in my heart. Over time, I came to realize that grief is not something you simply “get over.” It demands compassion, support, and a safe space to share the stories and memories that bind us to the ones we’ve lost. That’s why I now advocate strongly for grief counseling — not just for myself, but for everyone who has faced the loss of a loved one. We need programs that help us navigate this difficult journey, that remind us we are not alone, and that empower us to honor our grief while rebuilding our lives.
